Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca backtracks on Radja Nainggolan, claiming Juventus have ‘real interest’ in the midfielder.

The Belgian international is co-owned by the Isolani and Roma, a situation which must be resolved this summer.

If the Giallorossi are unable to negotiate a deal with the Sardinian side for their half, a blind auction will take place, with the player going to the highest bidder.

The Belgian international is co-owned by the Isolani and Roma, a situation which must be resolved this summer.

If the Giallorossi are unable to negotiate a deal with the Sardinian side for their half, a blind auction will take place, with the player going to the highest bidder.

Theoretically, Cagliari could strike a deal with another club for the player, and buy out Roma’s share knowing that they can immediately sell the player on.

Following reported interest from Juventus yesterday, the Capozucca called the claims ‘nonsense’, but appears to have softened his stance today.

“Nainggolan is an international player,” the sporting director reminded Unione Sarda.

“He’s played for the national team and in the Champions League, and done well, so he’s a player who is on a lot of radars.

“There’s interest from Juventus, as well as other clubs, and it’s real interest. The figures which we’ve talked about reflect what his real value is.

“Negotiations are in place right now, it’s normal that Cagliari will try to give the player to whoever best meets our needs.”
