Torino coach Ivan Juric prepares to face his beloved Genoa in a relegation tussle tomorrow and confirms Andrea Belotti could be back in the starting XI.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at 17.30 UK time (16.30 GMT) on Friday.

Juric spent much of his career at Genoa, as a player first and then a coach, so it’s going to be an emotional reunion.

“I think the sentiments will be stronger when we play at Marassi, while here on our turf it’ll be different,” he said in his press conference.

“Torino have a competitive squad and a lot of quality, we haven’t picked up as many points as we probably deserved to, but that’s not to be put down to bad luck. We simply made too many mistakes and paid a heavy price for them.

“Progress brings points and errors on the small details can take points away. We cannot get it wrong tomorrow and, while I don’t like football to be obsessed with results, you do forget good performances if they don’t come with suitable results.”

Torino have repeatedly fumbled points by conceding late goals, most recently in the 1-0 away to Napoli.

“We had been doing well and Napoli didn’t seem to be threatening, but there was a ricochet and it landed on the head of Victor Osimhen. We do have regrets against Atalanta, Lazio and Juventus.

“It’s not a psychological issue, because if you sit back and defend, you will concede. We had been continuing to push with the right attitude.

“The errors I struggle to accept are the ones regarding movement. We are not fluid enough.”

Belotti made his comeback off the bench last week after almost two months out with a sprained ankle.

“I am thinking about starting him tomorrow, although he’s having some trouble still with change of pace. The important thing is that he gains consistency and doesn’t suffer a relapse,” continued Juric.

“Dennis Praet is available, but Marko Pjaca and Simone Verdi won’t be back for the next couple of games at least.”
