But speaking the morning after he netted twice in the Citizen’s 5-1 thrashing of Milan in Pittsburgh, the striker has claimed he wants to prove his worth at the Etihad.

“I feel more confident now,” he told reporters. “My Italian friends are always sending me messages, asking if I am going to return.

“But I have decided that I want to stay here.

“I enjoyed myself in Italy, but at the moment I am happy with Manchester City.

“But we’ll see what happens.”
