Lazio winger Jony says coach Simone Inzaghi is “a legend of the club, loved by everyone” and that he hopes “Ciro Immobile wins the Golden Shoe.”
The 28-year-old joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Spanish side Alaves, and has gradually come to terms with life in the capital.
“At Alaves I had a marvellous year, and it wasn’t easy to decide to leave. However I wanted a new challenge and Lazio have given me that possibility,” Jony told Spanish newspaper Marca.

The 28-year-old joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Spanish side Alaves, and has gradually come to terms with life in the capital.
“At Alaves I had a marvellous year, and it wasn’t easy to decide to leave. However I wanted a new challenge and Lazio have given me that possibility,” Jony told Spanish newspaper Marca.
“Here the football is more tactical and I run more in respect to Spain. With our 3-5-2 we run a lot.
“This is a style of playing that I have never experienced in my career, you always have the responsibility to look behind. From December to now I have grown up a lot.”
Jony forms part of a Spanish contingent at the club with Patric and Luis Alberto, and the wing-back says the Lazio No 10 has helped him settle in the Eternal City.
“When I arrived the first thing the fans ask you is to win the derby against Roma. Luis and Patric have helped me.
“Luis is a great friend, his quality on the pitch is fundamental.”
Coach Inzaghi has propelled the club into the title race this season, with Lazio only a point behind leaders Juventus.
“The mister is a legend of the club, loved by everyone and is admired for how he trains us and transmits his ideas. He works a lot and has a lot of passion.”
Ciro Immobile is Capocannoniere at this stage of the season with 25 goals, and Jony hopes he can go on and do more.
“Ciro is a beast, not only for the goals he makes, but above all because he works so much for the team.
“He runs a lot and helps his teammates in the locker room. I really hope he can win the Golden Shoe.”
