The uncertainty is due to a case at Torino. The Granata never reveal which ones of their players test positive for COVID, but according to ANSA, it is Salvatore Sirigu who contracted the virus this time.
The former PSG goalkeeper was part of the team along with Gigio Donnarumma, Alex Meret and Alessio Cragno.
The Napoli and Milan shot-stoppers had tested negative upon their return from international duty last week. The same is true of Cragno, who, however, tested positive after a swab test underwent on April 4.
Donnarumma had already tested positive for COVID in September.
Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci tested positive immediately after his return from international duty and the same is true of PSG's Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi who will miss Wednesday's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Among those mentioned, Cragno and Sirigu are the only ones to have played on Saturday, when Serie A resumed after the international break.
Sassuolo decided to leave their Italy internationals out of the home clash against Roma, which eventually finished with a 2-2 draw.
The Neroverdi had been criticised for their choice, annoying coach Roberto De Zerbi.
"The decision to oust Locatelli and Ferrari was a shared choice between me, the club and the medical staff," De Zerbi said at a press conference.
The Neroverdi face Inter in their rescheduled fixture on Wednesday and the same is true of Juventus and Napoli.
