Italy will enter Phase Three of its coronavirus response on June 15, with the Coppa Italia made an exception.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will sign a new decree this evening, opening the country up further after three months of lockdown measures.

It comes after Italy managed to minimise the spread of COVID-19, with 53 deaths reported on Thursday compared to the peak of 919 on March 27.

The decree permits all professional sports to restart on June 12, behind closed doors and with health protocols in place.

Therefore, the Coppa Italia semi-finals will be free to go ahead from tomorrow with JuventusMilan, followed by NapoliInter 24 hours later.

From Monday, five-a-side football and all other amateur contact sports can resume, as well as play areas for children, arcades, bingo halls, spas and ski resorts reopening.

Nightclubs and dancehalls, on the other hand, will remain closed until at least July 14.

Finally, Italians will be able to leave the country for states within the Schengen Zone – consisting of the European Union, United Kingdom, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican Zone.

That will extend to Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia and North Macedonia on June 16.

However, leaving the country for anywhere else will remain prohibited until 30 June, except for valid reasons of work, health or necessity.
