Simone Inzaghi says talk of Lazio winning the Scudetto is not absurd but warns his side have to be realistic.

The Biancocelesti have 32 points from their opening 14 Serie A matches and lie fifth in the table ahead of tomorrow night’s meeting with Torino.

However, dropped points by each of Inter, Napoli, Juventus and Roma this weekend mean the Aquile can move to within five points of the top with victory over Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team.

However, dropped points by each of Inter, Napoli, Juventus and Roma this weekend mean the Aquile can move to within five points of the top with victory over Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team.

“Without doubt, we need to look at our own results,” Coach Inzaghi said at his pre-match Press conference.

“I asked for a winning performance at Marassi [against Sampdoria] and the boys were excellent, aside from the goals scored at the end.

“Is it absurd to think about the Scudetto? No, looking at what we are doing.

“But we need to be realistic because the teams ahead of us are doing very well and those behind us are ready to chase us.

“We need to be good game after game. We have our minds on Torino, we can’t get it wrong otherwise the performance at Marassi would lose its importance.”

Inzaghi also praised the season Toro are having, with tomorrow’s visitors having lost just three times all season.

“They are having a good season, they are in a little group with Milan and Fiorentina. We will need to be determined.

“Tomorrow we need to have continuity, we know we will be facing a tough team.

“We all know Sinisa, we will come up against a hard opponent.”
