“How can you not believe if you’re Milan Coach?” Inzaghi asked journalists in his pre-match Press conference.

“Milan have to get back to winning the Scudetto, but it’s a gradual process.

“If we play like we did against Napoli and get consistent results then it’ll be easier. I’m very ambitious.

“I have a club and a great President who want to bring Milan to the top.”

Inzaghi also took the time to discuss Stephan El Shaarawy, who has been linked with a move away from San Siro after struggling for form this term.

“As long as I’m at Milan, he will stay here.

“We talk every day, we are teammates, and I think there is mutual respect between us.

“It’s up to me to put him out there on the field and try to get him to do better.

“He’s always played, though I’m not sure how many were as a starter. He has played a lot in the 4-3-3, but there’s a lot of competition and everyone has to fight for their place.

“I have plenty of choice. I have a great relationship with him, and my respect for him hasn’t changed.

“I hope he can find the consistency in performance and goals that will allow him to make a real leap in quality.”

The Coach also discussed his other misfiring striker, Fernando Torres.

"Today is the first time he's trained. He had a fever. I hope I can take him to Rome.

"Alex may also be able to take a place on the bench, he has 20-30 minutes in him.

"As for [Ignazio] Abate and [Mattia] De Sciglio we'll welcome them back in Dubai [for the winter training camp]."
