According to the newspaper, the other club which sought to tempt Benitez away from San Paolo was another of his former employers – Valencia.

According to the sports daily Benitez has not ruled out extending his Napoli contract, but will seek assurances about transfers and training facilities from President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
