Inter President Steven Zhang praises the team and Simone Inzaghi but warns that it is ‘too early’ to talk about the Scudetto.

The Nerazzurri could climb to the top of the table if they win their game in hand against Bologna on Wednesday. They are currently two points off their city rivals Milan, who secured a 2-1 win over Lazio yesterday.

“The team, the coach and all the members of the club have made a great job, but we can judge it only at the end of the season,” Zhang told Sky Sport Italia from the Imola circuit where he watched the F1 GP yesterday.

“Now, we must close our eyes and continue to push. The next month will be decisive, so we must remain focused.”

Is he confident that Inter will win a second successive Scudetto this season?

“I don’t want to talk about it, it’s too early,” he said, smiling. “I am immersed in the Italian culture. You talk about the result only once you have achieved it,” Zhang concluded.

Inter are in the race to win a domestic treble given that they won the Supercoppa in January and have qualified for the Coppa Italia Final. Zhang became the first foreign president to win the Serie A title last season.
