Despite reports that they would pull out due to travel restrictions and COVID cases, it is confirmed Inter will play Arsenal in the Florida Cup.

The Corriere dello Sport had suggested the Nerazzurri were withdrawing from the pre-season tournament due to ‘health reasons,’ citing the surge in Delta variant COVID-19 cases.

However, the organisers of the Florida Cup assure Inter will be taking part and are expected in America on Thursday.

Romelu Lukaku and the other players who participated in the knockout rounds of UEFA EURO 2020 have an extended vacation, but should unite with the squad in the United States.

Their opening fixture is against Arsenal at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Sunday, July 25.

Simone Inzaghi’s side will then face either Everton or Millionarios on Wednesday, July 28 at the same venue.

Other pre-season friendlies lined up for the reigning Serie A champions are against Atletico Madrid on August 8 in Israel and Dinamo Kiev on August 14 in Monza.
