Tottenham, Barcelona and Manchester United are all reportedly pursuing Atalanta defender Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero.

Fresh from an impressive campaign with Atalanta and winning the Copa America for Argentina, Romero’s profile has risen sharply over the past few months.

Manchester United interest had already been mentioned, but now Sportitalia report that Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are also tracking his situation.

The 23-year-old centre-back was signed from Juventus in September 2020 on a two-year loan for €2.32m with option to buy for another €16m.

Even before they get a chance to activate that agreed option, Romero’s transfer market value has already more than doubled.

It will now cost at least €35m to get Romero away from Atalanta this summer, but the two Premier League giants and Barcelona are seemingly ready to pay up.

The defender has an eye for goal too, scoring three times in 42 competitive appearances for La Dea last season, along with providing five assists.
