Serie A champions Inter are looking to get their title defence back on track when they host Sassuolo at San Siro this weekend. Sunday’s clash is huge for Simone Inzaghi’s side, who are looking for their first league win in three.

Inter vs. Sassuolo odds

1 – Both teams to score – 7/10

2 – Inter to win and BTTS – 7/5

3 – Over 3.5 goals – 20/21

4 – Inter to win 2-1 – 9/1

5 – Inter to win and over 4.5 goals – 7/2

Inter followed up their 2-1 defeat to Milan in the Derby della Madonnina with a 1-1 draw away to another title rival, Napoli, last weekend. The Nerazzurri also suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, and they’re in real need of a dose of positivity this time out.

The Beneamata’s Coppa Italia victory over Roma last week is their only win in their last four games in all competitions, while Inter have also only won one of their last four in Serie A. Sassuolo will hope to catch the champions at a low ebb on Sunday, but the Neroverdi’s own form doesn’t give them much cause for optimism.

Sassuolo may have been seconds from beating Roma last time out, but they are down in 12th in the Serie A table and on a four-match winless run, losing two. Their resounding 5-1 win at Empoli in January remains their only victory in their last eight Serie A fixtures, while Alessio Dionisi’s side have only won three of their last 15 in the league.

The first of those victories may have been a 3-1 triumph over Milan at this same stadium in late November, but it’s incredibly tough to see the Neroverdi repeating that this weekend. Sassuolo are still a dangerous side though, scoring more goals than any other team in the bottom 12 places in the table. They’ve scored 13 times in their last eight matches in all competitions, only drawing one blank during that run.

Both teams to score looks a good bet in this match, with Inter likely to need at least a couple of goals to take the points. The Nerazzurri have won the last two meetings between the clubs 2-1, and are unbeaten in their last six encounters with Sassuolo, winning four of the last five. Those five most recent clashes have seen BTTS pay out four times, producing a total of 22 goals at an average of 4.4 per game.
