Inter cruised to a comfortable 8-0 win over Serie C side Pergolettese in a pre-season friendly match today.
The Nerazzurri are working hard to prepare for the rapidly approaching Serie A campaign and they still have one more pre-season friendly ahead of their season opener, facing Villarreal on August 6. Inter are hoping to take revenge on intercity rivals Milan after missing out on the Scudetto by only two points last season.
Inter had no trouble against Pergolettese today, with Inzaghi’s side securing a six-goal advantage in the first half after goals from Lautaro Martinez, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Edin Dzeko and Roberto Gagliardini. Hakan Calhanoglu and Romelu Lukaku found the scoresheet in the second half.
Pergolettese finished 10th in Serie C – Group A last season and will be hoping to push themselves up the table in the upcoming campaign.
Inter will face Villarreal in their final pre-season friendly later this week ahead of their Serie A season opener against Lecce on August 13.
