Inter’s second place finish in the Champions League has had important economic ramifications, helping them cut their losses by around half compared to last year.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the Nerazzurri’s balance sheets for the year ending June 2022 closed with losses of around €140m, something that’s been majorly reduced by their deep run in Europe’s premier club competition this campaign.

Inter will receive around €100m from UEFA thanks to their second place finish in the Champions League, and ticket sales from the competition will also bring in around €40m. The Paramount sponsorship, worn in the final, was worth €4m to the Milanese club.

This season, Inter are expected to reach €400m in revenues for the first time in their history, which’ll lead to losses of around €70-80m for balance sheet ending June 2023, a vital reduction.

Despite this, the Nerazzurri will still have to cut costs and reduce their wage bill, which could lead them to sell an important first team player this summer, possibly goalkeeper Andre Onana.
