It'd be a blow for the 24-year-old, who has two goals in eight senior caps for Italy. This season for Napoli he has scored 12 and provided 10 Serie A assists.
Insigne and Fiorentina’s Federico Bernardeschi will nonetheless be tested out in the training retreat, probably with Leonardo Pavoletti of Genoa, Torino hitman Andrea Belotti and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi.
Giuseppe Rossi, Mario Balotelli and Francesco Totti also have no chance of being called up.
