Ciro Immobile insists that while Napoli “will never leave my heart”, he “professionally understands” Gonzalo Higuain’s decision to join Juventus.

“Klose? I’m happy that Miro is doing an internship with the DFB, he’s realised a dream. In Rome, he’s a legend. Who else could set world records for goals?” the Lazio forward and Naples native told Kicker.

“I need a little under 50 goals to surpass Klose for the number of League goals he scored for Lazio. It’s a child’s play.

“Napoli? They’ll never leave my heart: I wish Napoli the best every day, except when they play against my team.

“Higuain? He’s a player that has only a few years left. Sentimentally speaking, I understand the fans’ disappointment, but I also understand Gonzalo on a professional level.

“Juventus? I only had a year in their first team but played with Buffon and Del Piero: what an experience.

“Alex was my idol. He was at the end of his career when I started out. In the penalty area, the best of all, however, was Trezeguet. I watched him and remained speechless.”
