Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to Milanello, while Divock Origi partially trained with the rest of the team this morning, reports Sky Sport Italia.

Both strikers are on the sidelines due to injuries and Ibra is expected to return to action in 2023.

Nevertheless, he has recently extended his contract with the Serie A champions and, according to Sky Sport Italia, he returned to Milanello yesterday to continue his recovery.

The Sweden striker will train at Milan‘s training ground also during the next few days.

Origi partially trained with the rest of the squad in the morning, but it’s still unclear whether the ex-Liverpool striker will be available for Milan’s Serie A opener against Udinese on Saturday.

The Belgium international had been training separately during the first few weeks of the pre-season following an injury suffered with the Reds at the end of 2021-22.

Olivier Giroud worked separately from the group in the morning, but that was part of the training program and the France striker is expected to start in Milan’s first official game of the season in four days.

  1. Our strikers are all either old or injury prone, even Rebic. This is a problem. It’s crazy that right now we have just one half-striker (Rebic) available out of four (not counting Lazetic for obvious reasons). I hope this won’t come back to haunt us throughout the season.

I guess both Leao and De Ketelaere can also play as makeshift strikers, but it’s important for the first choice striker to get consistent minutes every week to keep his form and bang in those goals.

Who is that first choice striker going to be anyway? 36 year old Giroud can’t be it imo. I think our best bet is Origi, for tactical reasons.

I think its going to be Giroud starting for the big games and we will be looking to Origi to step up to the plate as a ST and lets see what he can do & hopefully he will add something to our attack. Rebic looks fit and hungry in pre season but as you said he is prone to an injury. Leao & especially CDK could fill in up top and I expect to see CDK pushed further forward against smaller teams. we are certainly in a better position in attack than last year thats for sure but its the midfield I’d like to see re-enforced .

  3. We could have got Scamacca or Belotti but as usual because they are Italian they are deemed not good enough, italy are a joke, all the do is bum lick sub par foreign players, pathetic and weak with no pride
