Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes there are ‘no favourites’ between Milan and Tottenham in the Champions League and insists the Rossoneri still believe in the Scudetto.

The Swede is among the guests at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are among the candidates for the Best Sporting Director Of The Year, while Paolo Scaroni could be named Best President.

Ibra is currently recovering from a knee injury and hopes to be back in January.

“I’m working, and I hope I’ll get something back,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“This is my mentality, this is a different season. I could not be there in the first part, hopefully, I’ll be back for the second. The team has improved since I arrived. Napoli are doing better than us, but the second part of the season is the most important.”

Do Milan still believe in the Serie A title and what does he think about the Champions League Round of 16 clash with Tottenham?

“Why shouldn’t we? We always do,” said Ibrahimovic talking about the title race in Italy.

“Champions League is always difficult, it’s an open game and I don’t think there are favourites. It’s crucial to feel well at that exact moment.”

“Maldini and Massara? They are doing a great job, it’s also thanks to them that Milan have been successful. We are growing, the club is in new hands, and we are all doing a great job.”

Ibra, 41, has scored 92 goals in 159 appearances with Milan, where he returned for a second spell in January 2020.

Ha bagged eight goals in 23 appearances across all competitions last season when the Rossoneri won their first Serie A title in 11 years.

His contract at San Siro runs out at the end of the season.
