ANSA explains that the video showing Ciro Santoriello saying he hates Juventus was shot in 2019 when the Turin Prosecutor explained why he had dismissed another case involving the Bianconeri.

The video has gone viral on social media in Italy as it shows one of the three Turin Prosecutors investigating Juventus’ finances admitting to being a Napoli fan who hates Juventus.

ANSA explains the context of the video, saying that it was shot in 2019 when Santoriello explained why he had dismissed another case involving the Bianconeri and their President Andrea Agnelli in 2015-16.

Juventus had not included a sum in the section ‘charges and risks’ in their balance sheet to deal with possible damages resulting from civil actions in the Calciopoli case.

However, the Prosecutor did not find any wrongdoing, so he proposed dismissing the case.

This is still not enough to end controversy and outrage in Italy as even Sports Minister Andrea Abodi joined the debate saying that he would make his assessments after watching the video that went viral between Monday and Tuesday.
