Hungary coach Marco Rossi discussed the qualities of Giacomo Raspadori, the tough situations at Juventus and Inter and Napoli’s chances of winning the Scudetto this season.

The 58-year-old Italian has been the head coach of Hungary since 2018 and he’s done well since his appointment, overseeing 46 matches and picking up 1.63 points per game. Rossi is hoping to guide Hungary to a Nations League victory over Italy tomorrow, where a win would see the team win their group ahead of the Azzurri, Germany and England.

Speaking to Il Messaggero, Rossi first highlighted which players caught his eye in Italy’s 1-0 win over England earlier this week.

“Raspadori, and not just because of the goal, which had very high technical content. I liked his way of playing on the pitch and his willingness to talk with Scamacca, who is also very good.

“I saw the Bonucci of the BBC again, defender and backline regista.”

He gave his thoughts on the tough starts to the season suffered by Juventus and Inter.

“Juventus are paying for injuries, while Inter’s situation seems more critical to me, cracks are emerging within the dressing room.”

Finally, Rossi discussed which teams are the favourites in the title race this season.

“Napoli and Milan. I hope it really is Napoli’s year, I have friends and relatives who support the Azzurri.

“The celebrations in a city like Naples are always a spectacle. Milan are solid and play well. Paolo Maldini is a fundamental reference point.”

In this Nations League campaign, Hungary lost to Italy 2-1 but secured wins over England 1-0 and 4-0 and Germany 1-0, drawing the latter 1-1 at home.

  1. CALMAAA!!!

Agnelli will have seen that Hungary are scoring goals. He does not want that. The conditions are to have no attempts on goal (Monza), full bunker retreat mode for at least 88 mins and to never cross the halfway line. They have someone who ticks all those boxes. Presenting Blitzkrieg basement bunker Max aka the Allegrisaurus.

  2. Hungary need a draw to qualify for the playoffs. I’ve watched Humgary win 1-0 against Germany. They were super lucky to not concede. The Germans deserved to win. If Italy play as they did against England, it might not be enough to win the group.
