Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain describes Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri as being “like a father”.

The Argentine scored 36 Serie A goals for the Partenopei last season, but caused outrage in Naples when he left to join the Bianconeri in the summer.

“There’s affection with Maurizio,” Higuain insisted, speaking to reporters in Milan.

“He’s a bit like a father for me. He knows the things that remain, I had a beautiful period at Napoli.

“Now at Juve there’s a relationship of great respect with [Max] Allegri, we’ve only known each other six months but everything is good.

“There will be two matches in Naples, but I’m calm because it only makes things worse if you’re nervous.”

The Old Lady faces Inter at the weekend, having lost the first meeting at San Siro earlier this season.

“It’s not a game which is special or different from the others, but yes we’re playing for a piece of the Scudetto.

“We face a team which commands respect, but we have to continue as we have been.

“Icardi? It won’t be a contest between me and Mauro.”

Despite a comfortable win over Sassuolo at the weekend, there was controversy when Paulo Dybala failed to shake Allegri’s hand after being substituted.

“Paulo needs to be calm, he knows how important he is for this team,” Higuain advised.

“The controversy is already over though, these things happen.”
