Former Napoli striker Roberto Sosa claims he “never liked Gonzalo Higuain the man” as the Juventus new boy rejected Argentina call-ups “more than once”.

Higuain has become an unpopular figure among Napoli fans following his record move to Juve, despite scoring 36 Serie A goals for the Partenopei last season, and Sosa – an important part of the latter’s renaissance – stuck the boot in further.

“If I said it three months ago, I‘d have burned the house down, but now I can say one thing about Higuain: as a man I’ve never liked him, never,” El Pampa told Canale 21.

“He’s a top player, a phenomenon, but as a man he’s always disappointed me.

“He’s rejected the Argentine national team more than once, one time because he wanted to improve his physical condition. He’s not worth my salt.”
