Hernanes hails Juventus' “good period” but “we still have to push harder”.

The Bianconeri have recovered from a poor start to the season to open up a three point lead at the top of Serie A, with 19 wins in their last 20 League games.

“After a start to the season which wasn’t the best, we’ve fixed everything,” Hernanes told JTV.

“I’ve acclimatised well and I’m happy to be here in Turin, I think you can see that on the pitch too.

“After a start to the season which wasn’t the best, we’ve fixed everything,” Hernanes told JTV.

“I’ve acclimatised well and I’m happy to be here in Turin, I think you can see that on the pitch too.

“We’re going through a good period, we’ve found our pace and the right mentality after a start to the season which wasn’t uplifting.

“Now we have to show our strength though, because you see the great athletes in the final sprint. There are eight games to go, plus the final of the Coppa Italia [against Milan], so we still have to push harder to finish in front of everyone.

“I think the Scudetto race will be balanced until the end, because the teams chasing us are doing well too, and in the Coppa Final it’s a one-off game where anything can happen.

“We want to finish the season in style though, and we’ll approach the run-in with all our strength.

“We have to go into the game with Empoli with the right approach, because now we can’t get anything wrong.

“In Italy no game is won or lost before you’ve played it, you have to earn everything on the pitch.”

The Brazilian was also asked about the Champions League, where the Old Lady crashed out having taken Bayern Munich to extra-time.

“It was a balanced tie and Bayern didn’t particularly worry me because I thought we could go through.

“We know how it went, but we learned a lot from both matches.

“So no regrets, we hold our heads high and we’re already thinking about next year, because we can face teams of that level with even more awareness and conviction to get satisfaction in Europe too.”
