Alessio Dionisi is happy with Sassuolo‘s win over Lazio but believes his team must be more consistent to take a further step forward.

The Neroverdi beat Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio at the Mapei Stadium. They have also beaten Juventus and Milan away this season and picked up a draw against Napoli.

“We can still improve, we have many young players and it takes time even if I understand there isn’t always time,” Dionisi told DAZN.

“The club has patience, and I have even more. We have room for improvement, for example, in reading the games and in matches that are simple for us on paper. For now, we enjoy these performances and these results.”

Can Sassuolo do something more and take one step forward?

“As of today, we don’t have consistency,” the coach said.

“Sometimes, it seems that performances are enough, but it’s not enough. We always need to get a result. We have changed players, but we must try to take a step forward.”

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi have been linked with a move to Inter, how are transfer speculations affecting his players?

“I wouldn’t talk about the transfer here, I prefer to talk about it with my directors.

“Young players must be supported. For some of them, fame comes before their successes. Sometimes they don’t deserve some headlines in newspapers.

“We have to help them and support all our young players. I see them every day in training and they must remain humble and with their feet on the ground.”
