FIGC President Gabriele Gravina says Italy have only 125 tickets available for the UEFA Euro 2020 semi-finals and reveals the Azzurri’s reaction to Leonardo Spinazzola’s injury after the match against Belgium.

Italy have qualified for the semi-finals of EURO 2020 thanks to a 2-1 win over Roberto Martinez’s side.

The Azzurri will face Spain at Wembley on Tuesday, but Gravina revealed there are just 125 tickets available for the game at Wembley.

“We will have problems bringing our fans to Wembley. We’ve been told we’ll only have 125 tickets available for the semi-final and 1,000 for the Final, there are some strong limitations,” Gravina said at a press conference on Saturday.

The only bad news of the night came from Leonardo Spinazzola, one of Italy’s best players in the tournament.

The 28-year-old picked up an Achilles tendon injury and could remain out of action for up to six months.

“It was emotionally engaging to enter the dressing room last night and have the feeling we had lost the game because a teammate had suffered a serious injury,” Gravina said.

“I will remember that moment for my entire career, there was stony silence. These lads have shared their teammate’s pain. That’s beautiful and that’s what we want to transmit to all the Italians.

“I am sorry for Spinazzola, he was helping the team so much, I wish him a speedy recovery.”

The 28-year-old returned to Florence with his teammates last night and will have further medical examinations in Rome today.

Italy players tried to cheer him up on their way to Italy, signing a song for him.

Spinazzola had been named MVP in two of Italy’s five games at the Euros, and if the Achilles tendon injury is confirmed, he will leave the Azzurri training retreat to begin his recovery at Trigoria with his club Roma.
