Inter have set their sights on Denzel Dumfries and have reportedly opened talks with the agent of the Netherlands international.

The 25-year-old sees his contract with PSV expire in June 2023 and according to Calciomercato.com, the Dutch club value him at €20m.

Inter are unwilling to match the club’s asking price but have opened talks with the player’s agent, hoping to find a way to wrap up a deal.

According to the report, Inter can afford to sign the player on loan with an option to buy, but it remains to be seen if PSV will agree to such conditions, given that the 25-year-old was one of the best players for Netherlands at UEFA Euro 2020 with two goals in four appearances.

The Serie A champions are on the lookout for a new right-back after Achraf Hakimi’s move to PSG.

The transfer of the Morocco international is not official yet, but Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed earlier this week that the deal is done so that Hakimi will join the Ligue 1 giants in a €70m move.

Dumfries is the last name mentioned as a candidate to replace Hakimi. Hector Bellerin, Davide Zappacosta and Nahuel Molina are also monitored by the Serie A giants, according to reports.
