Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo expressed sympathy for his players after they were beaten by Milan.

The Blucerchiati had the better of a hard-fought match at Luigi Ferraris but slipped to defeat after Carlos Bacca’s late goal for the Rossoneri.

“We gave them minimal chances, apart from at the end when they had a few,” Giampaolo told reporters at his post-match Press conference.

“Although we had some problems, this evening we managed to show our worth on the pitch.”

Following the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Roma, Samp have now lost back to back matches in the dying minutes against traditionally strong Serie A teams.

Their Coach believes his team deserved more from the two games.

“The path that I will continue to take is this one. I won’t take a step back. I am sorry that these performances haven’t brought points. I am sorry for the boys.”
