President Tommaso Ghirardi has expressed his fury at Parma’s players for their eight-game winless streak: “I want to enjoy my Sundays!”

The Ducali haven’t won a game since the first week of February, slipping in the table from 12th in Week 21 to their current position of 17th, with the side only managing to draw with seemingly doomed Cesena in Week 29.

“I’m not worried, I’m pissed off,” fumed Ghirardi to reporters in Milan on Monday.

“We seriously risked losing the weekend’s match, one that we had to win.

“The players must bring out their attributes, because I want to enjoy my Sundays, I’m tired of being angry!”

The President also took time to confirm that Coach Roberto Donadoni’s position was not at risk, reminding reporters that his contract runs until the end of next season, whilst he also had some good news regarding Pietro Leonardi.

Linked with Fiorentina as a possible replacement for the departing Pantaleo Corvino, Parma sporting director Leonardi has in fact signed a four-year extension to his current contract, tying him to the Tardini outfit until June 2017.

“I had wanted to make the announcement [on Leonardi’s contract] at the end of the season, but I have just renewed his contract. I hope that with my explanation the rumours about him will silence,” concluded Ghirardi.
