Genoa are reportedly in talks to sign Real Betis striker Antonio Sanabria, leaving Roma in line for a hefty windfall.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Genoa are working on a deal to replace Milan-bound Krzysztof Piatek with Sanabria.

Roma would be watching negotiations closely as they are entitled to 50 percent of any transfer fee Betis receive for the 22-year-old.

The Paraguayan joined Betis from Roma on a five-year contract with Betis, who paid a reported €7.5m for his services, in the summer of 2016.

The sell-on clause was confirmed to be in effect for each of the five years Sanabria was contracted to Betis at the time of his move.

The attacker has scored five goals this season but started only seven League matches to date in 2018-19.
