CEO Ivan Gazidis is ‘conviced’ Milan have ‘strengthened the team’ in the transfer market and pointed out the business was ‘in line with our strategy’.

Milan have picked up new faces in Alessandro Florenzi, Olivier Giroud, Tiemouè Bakayoko, Mike Maignan, Fodè Ballo-Tourè, Junior Messias and Pietro Pellegri.

Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali completed permanent moves to the club, while Brahim Diaz returned on another loan deal from Real Madrid.

In a message to the employees at Milan, the CEO thanked the ‘colleagues involved’ for the great work with the transfer market.

“We are convinced we have done very well on the market and have strengthened the team effectively,” Gazidis wrote, according to MilanNews.

“Important investments from the owners allowed us to consolidate and expand the squad of the men’s first team, in line with our strategy that focuses on the talent of young people, supported by more experienced players.

“We have also strengthened the women’s team and the Primavera. During the transfer market, we have overseen great teamwork and for this I thank Paolo [Maldini], Ricky [Massara] and the many colleagues involved.”
