Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis met with the squad at their training ground today, but it’s reported there was some tension during their exchanges.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta dello Sport, the team expressed its irritation – mainly via Zlatan Ibrahimovic – that Gazidis was having this meeting two days before the crucial Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus.

They wanted the club to communicate with them far earlier, especially after they agreed to accept a 50 per cent pay cut for April to help with the loss of revenue during the lockdown.

Gazidis is also said to have reassured the players that coach Stefano Pioli’s future had not been decided, despite Ralf Rangnick confirming he’d been in talks with Milan for next season.

That means Pioli still has a chance of proving himself in the role and keeping his job.

The CEO then watched the entire training session at the Milanello ground, insisting he will not be so distant from the squad in future.
