Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini believes his side are one game closer to Europe, after a draw with Roma.

The Orobici held the Scudetto challengers to a 1-1 draw, and with Lazio, Inter and Milan all drawing they remain in fifth-place, which is enough for a Europa League spot.

“Everything is as before, with one game less in a tough fixture list for us,” Gasperini said on Radio Rai.

“Everything is as before, with one game less in a tough fixture list for us,” Gasperini said on Radio Rai.

“We had a good first half and we could have taken advantage of more of our chances, in the second half Roma came out and created a lot.

“I think the 1-1 is the right result for what we saw over the 90 minutes.”

Gasperini also spoke to Sky after the final whistle.

“Today is a day where everything has remained the same and that’s fine by us, because the fixture list doesn’t make us smile.

“Now we have six games to go, including four at home, at that’s a small advantage for us because we’ll have more of a chance of playing for Europe on friendly turf.”
