“We have done very well this season, but the defeat to Cagliari slowed down our momentum and we’ve got to get back on it,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

The Orobici have more than followed up last season’s surprise fourth-place finish, as they are also in the Europa League Round of 32 and will face Juventus in the Coppa Italia Semi-Finals.

“It’ll be a very difficult game in Rome, but we must try to pick up as many points as possible. Roma had a solid first half to the campaign and Eusebio Di Francesco did a great job.”

These sides met in the opening round, which was decided in Bergamo by a cheeky Aleksandar Kolarov free kick.

“There are regrets over that game, because it represented what the first half of our season turned out to be: not getting what we deserved.

“Now the objective in Serie A is to stay close to the top group and then in March-April really go for it. I have the impression the second half of the season will be much more balanced, because the fight against relegation is tight and fiery.”

Atalanta squad for Roma: Berisha, Caldara, Castagne, Cornelius, Cristante, De Roon, Freuler, Gollini, Gomez, Gosens, Haas, Hateboer, Ilicic, Kurtic, Mancini, Masiello, Orsolini, Palomino, Petagna, Rossi, Schmidt, Spinazzola, Toloi, Vido
