Former Roma Coach Rudi Garcia is reportedly the favourite for the Milan job if a Chinese takeover goes ahead.

The Frenchman was fired by the Giallorossi in January after their form slumped and is looking to get back into the game.

Tuttosport writes today that Garcia is a strong contender for the Milan bench, but only if the Chinese investors strike a deal to take over the club.

They are currently in a period of exclusivity with current owner Silvio Berlusconi and a decision is expected to be made within the next few weeks.

Tuttosport writes today that Garcia is a strong contender for the Milan bench, but only if the Chinese investors strike a deal to take over the club.

They are currently in a period of exclusivity with current owner Silvio Berlusconi and a decision is expected to be made within the next few weeks.

Garcia would require a large transfer spend and therefore requires the additional funds that would come under new ownership.

The newspaper believes he would look to sign some of his old charges, including Bayern Munich’s Mehdi Benatia, Lille’s Rio Mavuba and Hebei China Fortune’s Gervinho.

If the takeover deal doesn’t go ahead, the club’s Plan B is composed of two options, according to the outlet.

One would be to keep interim boss Cristian Brocchi on for next season, while the other is Empoli’s Marco Giampaolo, who represents a low cost option as he will leave the Tuscans at the end of the season.
