Over 100 people were killed in terrorist attacks on the French capital last week, with suicide bombers attempting an attack on the national stadium.

“Obviously horrible things have happened,” Garcia said, discussing the atrocities in his Press conference ahead of the Bologna game.

“It’s difficult to turn our thoughts away from them, but I’ve told the players that when you take off your civilian clothes, you also have to leave the problems behind.

“When they put on football clothes, they should only feel pleasure in doing the most wonderful job in the world.

“They’re horrible things, which I’ll talk about now and then not again. As I’ve said, our first thoughts are with the injured and the families of the victims.

“They attacked our sources of pleasure – restaurants, concerts, matches.

“We must remain united and keep on living, we can’t lose anything to those who are not even people.

“We hope that all the great people in this world can get together to find a solution to this terrorism.

“Security? There are people in charge of this, and at the Stade de France they did well. Matches have been cancelled for important reasons, but life must go on.

“France played in England, it was a great response.

“We have to keep doing our job, life is hard enough without cancelling our sources of pleasure, we have faith in those involved in security.”
