Roma Coach Rudi Garcia warns against complacency when his side take on Bologna tomorrow.

The Giallorossi face a huge Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday night, but the French tactician is keen to ensure the focus is on Saturday’s game.

“The danger is that with the international break and the Champions League, we forget that this is a difficult game,” Garcia cautioned in his pre-match Press conference.

“It’s not already won, it’s anything but. It will be good to see [Roberto] Donadoni again, and they’ve won their last two games.

“It will be a Bologna with a totally different spirit, they’ll be completely focused on this match.

“Mattia Destro? It will be a pleasure to see Mattia again, not just for me but for the entire dressing room.

“He was a protagonist here, beyond being a high-level player he’s a man who it will be good to see again.

“However, we also have to be careful of [Emmanuele] Giaccherini, [Franco] Brienza, [Luca] Rizzo, [Anthony] Mounier…

“They’re an improved team, we have to get through this and do our best to get the win to start a series of results.”

After 12 games in Serie A and four in the Champions League, is it time to start resting players to keep them fresh?

“At any time it’s important to take stock of where we are in the season. At the start of the season it’s important to give playing time to everyone, sometimes it’s necessary to include new players, as they have to be ready in case of injury.

“Then there comes a point where you have to give consistency to some players.

“A new cycle is starting, while there’s also the fatigue of the first four months. Everyone is fine, and I’ll evaluate them.

“What matters is winning tomorrow, the rest doesn’t interest me.”

Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic suffered disappointment on international duty, as Bosnia were knocked out of the Euro 2016 play-offs by the Republic of Ireland, but the Coach insists both are fine.

“Obviously they were disappointed,” Garcia acknowledged.

“For them and for us it was important to get to the Euros. I found Edin and Mire in a positive way, they want to give their contribution for the club and make up for it with Roma, getting great results.

“I was ready to talk to them, but they didn’t need it.”
