Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani reveals the extent he went to in order to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.

“We are doing very well domestically and in Europe, so qualification – albeit in second place – will give us three months to focus on Serie A,” he said after the 2-0 victory away to Auxerre.

“I continue to think about the UEFA rankings, so I cheer on every Italian club in Europe. We want all of them to go through and I hope Inter can qualify tomorrow.”

Ibrahimovic broke the deadlock with a screamer, then Ronaldinho came off the bench to curl in a late second.

“Robinho and Ronaldinho are friends with the ball, that's for sure. The second goal was wonderful, very Brazilian,” said the transfer guru.

“When things were going badly, I made the most of my connections to get Ibra even when Barcelona's headquarters were closed and Sandro Rosell was on holiday in Ibiza!

“I thought we could fight for the Scudetto anyway, but Ibra and Robinho added to the mix really gives us another gear.”

There are going to be some concerns over how much Milan rely on their Swede, especially as he is complaining of exhaustion.

“I don't like to say we are dependent on Ibrahimovic. Unfortunately Pippo Inzaghi's out for the season, now we have four strikers instead of five, but we'll only move on the market if there is a huge opportunity. I don't see one, so we'll 95 per cent stay the same.”
