The Arsenal defender has been sent home by Didier Deschamps’ medical staff after being diagnosed with an achilles injury, and Les Bleus have turned to Roma’s Yanga-Mbiwa as his replacement.

The 25-year-old will join up with his international teammates for upcoming friendlies with Portugal and Armenia.

Yanga-Mbiwa has reportedly impressed enough in his early work with Roma to have them enter into talks to sign him outright from Newcastle United before next summer’s deadline.
