There are reports that former Milan and Inter director Massimiliano Mirabelli punched a Padova supporter in the head after an argument in the stands during a game with Juventus Next Gen.

The incident was outlined in Il Mattino di Padova newspaper and is said to have occurred at the final whistle of the 1-1 draw at the Stadio Euganeo.

According to local journalists, a Padova supporter shouted insults at Mirabelli, accusing him of “putting together a s***ty team” for the Serie C club.

The 53-year-old director of sport then turned and allegedly punched the fan in the back of the head.

It is reported the fan intends to sue Mirabelli and lodge a complaint with police.

Mirabelli worked for clubs including Cosenza, Ternana and Sunderland, then was head scout for Inter from 2014-16.

He is best known for the brief but eventful period as director of sport at Milan from April 2017 to July 2018, during the ill-fated Yonghong Li tenure working with Marco Fassone.

He was appointed director of sport at Serie C side Padova in January 2022.
