La Gazzetta dello Sport explains five decisions Milan must make over the next few months, including two summer signings and the launch of their U23 team.

While Stefano Pioli and his players focus on their targets on the pitch in the final part of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that club directors and owner Gerry Cardinale must make some key decisions over the next few months.

First and foremost, the club must sign a new centre forward for 2024-25 given that Olivier Giroud is expected to leave San Siro at the end of his contract in June, joining LAFC on a free transfer.

It is no secret that Joshua Zirkzee is the Rossoneri’s primary target, but the Serie A giants must negotiate with Bologna, which will not sell the Dutch striker for less than €50m-€60 m.

According to Gazzetta, Milan will also sign a new central midfielder but a reinforcement in the middle of the park is not a priority at San Siro these days.

The pink paper confirms that Milan may change the club’s organisation and that they are considering Damien Comolli as their new CEO. With his appointment, Giorgio Furlani would cover a different role in the club’s control room.

Last but not least, Milan are waiting for developments regarding their new stadium knowing that Milano’s mayor Beppe Sala has offered Milan and Inter the chance to refurbish and buy the Stadio Meazza.

Last but not least, the Rossoneri are tempted to launch their U23 squad playing in Italy’s third division. It’s a project that Juventus and Atalanta have already begun. According to Gazzetta, Milan are considering the financial aspects behind the creation of their second team, which also depends on the retirement of a club currently playing in Serie C, which would make room for the Milan squad in the league.

According to Gazzetta, former Milan defender Daniele Bonera is the leading candidate to become the coach of Milan’s U23 squad if the Serie A giants end up launching their second team.
