According to Tuttosport, Juventus have opened talks with agents of Genoa and Italy striker Mateo Retegui ahead of a possible summer transfer.

Juventus are interested in signing Italy international Mateo Retegui and have opened talks with the striker’s representatives, reports Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri want to boost their options in attack in 2024-25 and have identified the 24-year-old as an ideal reinforcement who could challenge Dusan Vlahovic for a starting spot in attack. Retegui could even replace the Serbia international if the Bianconeri receive a big offer for their star striker over the summer.

According to the report, preliminary talks between the Old Lady and Retegui’s agents have already started, but negotiations are at a preliminary stage.

Retegui stats for Italy and in Serie A

Retegui joined Genoa last summer in a €12m transfer from Tigre. He has scored six goals in 23 Serie A matches this season. His contract with the Grifone expires in June 2028.

Retegui has an impressive record with Italy, having scored four goals in six appearances with the Azzurri. The Argentina-born striker made his debut with La Nazionale in March 2023, scoring in a 2-1 loss against England at the Stadio Maradona in Naples.
