The website adds ex-Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso and Roma old boy Eusebio Di Francesco are also candidates to succeed Montella.

Umberto Gandini, who spent 23 years as technical director at Milan before lasting two years as Roma chairman, would be appointed as CEO in this set-up.

Ricky Massara would be given the role of sporting director as he looks set to leave Roma, with Gianluca Petrachi taking over in the capital.

Failing those appointments, TMW writes Commisso has lined up former Milan man Massimiliano Mirabelli and Pierpaolo Marino – once of Napoli and Atalanta – as alternatives for sporting director.
