Fiorentina confirm Matija Nastasic picked up a relatively serious muscular strain during international duty with Serbia, so are without three defenders against Milan.

The Viola host joint Serie A leaders Milan at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this weekend.

Lucas Martinez-Quarta and Nikola Milenkovic are suspended, with Erick Pulgar and Bartlomiej Dragowski injured.

Now Nastasic is out too, as a statement confirmed he has been diagnosed with a Grade I/II tear to the soleus muscle in the left leg.

A precise recovery time is not given, but this type of injury usually requires at least two to three weeks on the touchline.

He is certainly out of Saturday’s clash with Milan, so coach Vincenzo Italiano must do without three first-choice defenders.

Nastasic picked up the injury while in training with Serbia ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Portugal.
