“Milan Badelj will wear the Viola shirt in the upcoming season,” Fiorentina announced on their official website.

“The club has welcomed with satisfaction the player’s request to stay at Fiorentina, which the midfielder expressed with clarity and determination, as well as great enthusiasm for the new cycle being overseen by Coach Stefano Pioli, in which he feels fully involved and to whom he will give his full availability and professionalism.”

The Viola have lost a number of first team players this summer, with Gonzalo Rodriguez, Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Federico Bernardeschi all departing the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Nikola Kalinic is also likely to leave, with the striker expected to join Milan this week.
