Milan are currently in talks with Ismael Bennacer’s entourage regarding a contract renewal and his salary request has been made clear.

The 24-year-old Algerian was a consistent figure in Stefano Pioli’s midfield last season, making 40 appearances across all competitions, and he looks set to remain part of this rejuvenated Rossoneri squad for years to come. His current deal expires in 2024, however, so a new contract is needed.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, both parties want to move forward together and the plan is to iron out an agreement before the start of the season. Bennacer currently earns around €1.7m net per season and he’s asking Milan for a wage bump to €3.5m in his new contract.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have every intention of rewarding the Algerian midfielder for his growth and talks are ongoing to try and reach a deal. The Rossoneri are also looking to remove his €50m release clause, wanting to protect their player.
