Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero insists anyone who wants Roberto Soriano must pay his release clause.

The midfielder almost joined Napoli in the summer, but the paperwork was not completed in time while he has also been linked with Inter, Juventus, Valencia and Milan.

“Soriano? Give me the money and I’ll show you the camel,” Ferrero told Radio 24, using one of his favourite catchphrases.

“He has a release clause [€15m] which must be paid. If he wants to stay, then good. I won’t sell anyone in January, I won’t repeat last year’s mistake with [Manolo] Gabbiadini."

Ferrero was also asked about forward Antonio Cassano, who seems to be back to his best after setting-up two goals in last night’s Derby della Lanterna.

“I think Cassano just looks at food now, he doesn’t eat it. Cassano has a desire for revenge after everyone called him ‘fatty’.

“He’s a race horse, he needs a jockey.”
