Udinese Coach Stefano Colantuono hints at a move for Alessandro Diamanti – “if Di Natale stopped we’d have to replace him…”

The 32-year-old joined Watford this summer, but has so far been limited to just 65 minutes of Premier League football.

The Pozzo family own both the Hornets and the Zebrette, so it has been suggested that Diamanti could move to Friuli in January.

“We’re alert, we want to improve the team and see what we can do,” Colantuono noted in his post-match Press conference following the win over Atalanta.

“Diamanti? He’s at a big club, it’s not easy to bring him here. If [Antonio] Di Natale stopped we’d have to replace him, and Diamanti is a good player.”

Di Natale is now 38, and it has been suggested he could even hang up his boots before the end of the current campaign.

The veteran striker has cryptically said “the President knows” how long he’ll continue playing for.
