Ferrero was a guest on the new Canale 5 show Grand Hotel Chiambretti and was asked whether Eto’o was a rip-off or a great champion?

“He’s somewhere in between,” replied the President. “I am not the one who needs to comment on Eto’o. Eto’o is Eto’o.

“Jose Mourinho wondered how old he was? We haven’t worked that out yet either.”

The fiery Sampdoria patron discussed his decision to enter the world of football, even though he is a Roma supporter.

“Would I become President of Juventus? No. No. No. My heart is Sampdoria and my head Roma. I work 20 hours a day, so I really don’t care about people who are diffident towards me. We live in a country where hard work is penalised.”

The Blucerchiati go into the Derby della Lanterna on Saturday night and Ferrero expressed concerns about their recent form.

“We are like batteries. We have run down a bit, but now we’ll recharge a bit and nobody will be able to stop us!”
