The Rossoneri were taken over by Chinese investors earlier this year, and have embarked on a huge summer spending spree.

Leonardo Bonucci, Lucas Biglia, Franck Kessié, André Silva, Mateo Musacchio and Andrea Conti are just some of the names who have already arrived, with links to Andrea Belotti and Nikola Kalinic.

“Let’s just say we’ll do a little something again,” Fassone said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It also depends on sales and in any case we’re not in a hurry. This is a very good squad, we’re just missing the icing on the cake. That, in any case, will be an excellent, top-level signing.

“All buys were made at the correct prices though.

“Will it be Belotti, Kalinic or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang? There could be another figure, a Mr X…”

Fassone also reflected on some deals which have already been completed, as well as Gigio Donnarumma’s renewal.

“It was a blitz for André Silva: we arrived in Oporto the night before and by dinner we had already closed it.

“There were a couple of players who didn’t arrive because the closing was delayed, one was [Sead] Kolasinac.

“It was frustrating at times but [sporting director Massimiliano] Mirabelli and I never stopped. He’s seen millions of games.

“Mino Raiola? If we renewed with Donnarumma it’s thanks to his insights. He pulled the right levers, he was able to convince Gigio to wed himself to our project.

“And when we speak of doing things with a straight back, we mean to say that agents need to have the right remuneration.

“Were Juventus angry about Bonucci? I didn’t feel it. The rapport is good, when you close a deal there are two of you.

“We came close with [Giuseppe] Marotta after the first meeting. The credit goes to [Coach Vincenzo] Montella.

“I was skeptical, Mirabelli was the most perplexed but the boss spurred us on [Montella and Bonucci share an agent, Alessandro Lucci].”
